2IM Group is looking for a Civil Engineer II to join our Transportation Team! This full-time position includes our benefits package (health care, vision, dental, health savings account, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Civil Engineer II will be based in the 2IM Group office, creating plans and analyzing data required on the site, or in the field. They also measure potential financial, environmental, and socio-economic costs of projects and materials and perform a series of assessments to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Some important duties and responsibilities of a Civil Engineer II include:
- Perform tasks requiring applications of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures
- Use design software such as MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD to accurately render and communicate designs
- Determine construction costs, local and professional building regulations, environmental impacts, and other factors that can affect project implementation
- Identify potential risk factors that can affect project delivery
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of other professionals, such as Scientists, Landscape Architects, Engineers, or clients, on roadway transportation and civil projects
- Enforce engineering, local, and legal regulations like health and safety protocols on-site
Skills and Qualifications:
A successful Civil Engineer II candidate has various prerequisite skills and qualifications, such as:
- Problem-solving skills to find the right solutions to issues
- Working knowledge of design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Exposure to site layout, erosion control, utility desig,n and environmental impact assessment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Planning and organization skills
- Developing knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation
Education and Training Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline. Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred. Pursuing a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 3 - 5 years of civil engineering experience related to transportation/roadway design
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills, and design skills
The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $65,000 - $95,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
